Delve into the world wide culture of tacos from the origins of tacos to the importance of the topping.

Taco’s, a very basic food from sight though there is more than meets the eye when diving into the world of tacos. There are lots of parts to a taco that many people take for granted, in which they all play a factor from the history of each taco, to the different kinds of tacos, to the importance of the taco toppings.
This blog will look into the world of taco’s past and present, learning about different kinds of tacos and the connection it has to ancient times, to the importance of the preparation and cooking of the meat, to one of the most essential ingredients of the taco, the toppings. I will also go and check out the many Mexican restaurants in Southern Utah on a quest to find the best taco, with reviews from each spot I will be going to.
Origins

With so many different tacos worldwide it's always interesting to hear about the origin and history of the different kinds. The traditional Mexican tacos all have regional origins/history’s. Many of which date back to ancient times that tend to have very interesting history/folktales. Nowadays we are starting to see trends of different kinds of tacos being recreated with a touch of different cultures, for example Korean Tacos, desert tacos and such.
Meats

Meats, the heart of the taco, if the meat is no good the taco will be no good. Many people take for granted the process that a cook has to go through to create the perfect taste of the respected meat. Traditional Mexican meats for tacos included, Al pastor, Carnitas, Carne Asada, Barbacoa, Guisado, Sadero, Cochinita, Cabrito, Birria, and Fish. All of these meets undergo a different marinating and cooking process that very few can perfect. Though nowadays the marination of the meat has changed from the traditional ways in order for Restaurants to differentiate from one another.
Toppings

Toppings, in my opinion, are the most crucial part to creating the perfect taco. With so many options to pick from, putting too many toppings can ruin a taco and putting too little will leave it very bland. Now when thinking of traditional toppings for tacos, it usually includes: onion, cilantro, salsa of one's choice and guacamole. Nowadays, toppings have introduced many different options for example, bell peppers, pineapples, zucchinis, mango's and etc. Each topping is prepped differently and created to specific tacos for a better taste.
Taco Review

With so many different Mexican Restaurants in Cedar City and St George, We will take a journey to many of these restaurants to look for the best taco spot in the Southern Section of Utah. What will I grade? We will be looking at the taste of the meat, to the taste of the tortilla, to the topping that is added individually, then and overall grade of the taco itself.
