The most crucial ingredient to the taco is the topping. You can have a taco everyday of the week with the same meat and type of tortilla, but different toppings and have a different flavor for each day. Without toppings the taste of the taco isn’t the same as it loses the flavorness. Now there are tons of toppings to choose from and below we will discuss the many different kinds.


Salsa

One of the centerpieces for a good Mexican taco is the salsa. Salsa is something that can bring a spiciness to the taco but can also bring a more zesty and even sweet flavor depending on the kind of salsas. Salsa has the ingredients of tomatoes, chili peppers, cilantro and onion. Some other ingredients would be added depending on the type of salsa.

Cilantro

Another centerpiece of a good Mexican taco is the cilantro. Cilantro is something that is added to salsa and guacamole that make it a very important ingredient. According to Healthline.com there are a lot of health benefactors.

Onion

Cebolla, love it or hate it, the crunch is something that is something that I enjoy when eating a taco. Though if you don't like the crunch of a raw onion it can be made differently, caramelized is the way to go.

Lime

If you want some zesty flavoring in your taco, look no farther than the importance of the lime. The lime is something that complements the salsa very well.

Sour cream

Sour cream is one of the many toppings that brings a distinct flavor, Adding sour cream will bring a creaminess to the taco that will balance the salsa that is chosen. One thing to note, sour cream is very heavy so if you are trying to watch your weight this might not be the best option.

Guacamole

Avocado, cilantro, onion, lime, and salt are the ingredients to making the perfect guacamole. If you want the cream flavor but something different from sour cream this is the best option. Not to mention avocados have very good health factors and is loaded with good monounsaturated fat, which boosts brain function.
